To stretch or not to stretch?

There has been much controversy in recent years about the relevance of stretching for injury prevention.

Here are some thoughts on why we think stretching is an important component of fitness.

- It's an important part of the physical and mental preparation for any
event -- It helps reduce anxiety and increases body awareness;
- The physical mechanism of stretching is detoxifying muscles and joints -- Accumulated toxins cause most soft tissue injuries;
- Stretching significantly reduces post exercise muscles soreness. Crystallized toxins create a shearing effect against the muscle fibers;
- Lack of stretching reduces flexibility, agility, body awareness
